Behavioral Health Services

Sherman Oaks Hospital provides Inpatient, Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient behavioral health services.

Before admission, we will perform a free screening to ensure that the patient meets the program’s criteria for an admission. We provide treatment for many symptoms and behaviors, including:

  • Depressed mood or mood swings
  • Isolative or withdrawn behavior
  • Prolonged grief or sadness
  • Harmful behaviors to self or others
  • Recurrent thoughts of suicide or death
  • Suicide attempts
  • Hallucinations or delusions
  • Severe behavioral problems
  • Overwhelming feelings of hopelessness and helplessness
  • Panic or anxiety attacks
  • Impairment in completing activities of daily living

Partial Hospitalization Program

The partial hospitalization program is provided five days a week to help our patients further stabilize and transition back into the community. This program is tailored to meet the specific needs of our clients in a safe and structured environment. Services include:

  • Transportation provided at no charge to and from the hospital
  • Weekly meeting with a psychiatrist and medical consultations
  • Therapeutic treatment with our professional staff
  • Case management services
  • Art therapy, dance/movement therapy and recreational therapy programs
  • Group psychotherapy
  • Individual and family therapy is available
  • Breakfast, snacks and hot lunches served daily

Intensive Outpatient Services - Discovery

Our Discovery Outpatient Program is designed to assist patients with identifying coping strategies and resources to help manage symptoms associated with behavioral health disorders such as Major Depression, Bi-polar Disorder, PTSD, Anxiety, Trauma, as well as psychotic disorders. We provide a safe, supportive and therapeutic environment for our patients. Participants attend between 2-4 days per week and are treated with compassionate care by our treatment team consisting of Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Registered Nurses, LCSW's and LMFT's. Services include:

  • Free transportation to and from the program
  • Monthly meetings with a psychiatrist
  • Therapeutic treatment with professional staff
  • Case management
  • Group psychotherapy
  • Individual and family therapy available
  • Breakfast, snacks and hot lunch served daily
  • Activities such as art, movement, meditation, music, pet therapy and holiday parties

Once a patient's symptoms are stabilized, outpatient program services are available. This allows our patients to attend a therapeutic program up to three day per week while allowing them to function within the community. Services include:

  • Transportation provided at no charge to and from the hospital

  • Therapeutic treatment with our professional staff
  • Case management services
  • Group psychotherapy
  • Individual and family therapy available
